I am a lecturer in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics and an R enthusiast. My research is focused on using quantitative methods to understand influenza in human populations. Specifically, to identify factors that impact infection outcomes, the role symptoms play in transmission, as well as the clinical epidemiology related to diagnosing and caring for patients with influenza. I am also very interested in how using software like R and Rstudio in a classroom setting can improve students understanding of biostatistics and epidemiology.
